St. Joseph Byzantine on Flickr.
Ran across this today, I almost made it a day without photographing some kind of sad, bad, and deteriorating in Cleveland.
Photo to the left is from when the church was in use. Built in 1933. Apparently the congregation became elderly and worried for their safety, and moved to Brecksville, Ohio, leaving this to be sold to the Zion Baptist Church, who abandoned it in 1984.
It’s been covered to death, but the beauty inside, the mosaics, and all are left uncared for kinda makes for some emotion.
